Welcome to Tinderbox

My family decided I needed an outlet for my photos and diaries of my activities during retirement, so here is the start of my blog for how I spend my retirement. Or was it to give me more things to keep me occpied? Thanks Catriona for organising it for me!

A good introduction is the view out our Tinderbox house window from the couch, to where I and our dog Soju often retreat after lunch to read the latest New Scientist (while Drew is seriously resting upstairs).
I especially like watching the clouds and the reflections of the treeline on the hill behind.

As a 'retirement present' to myself, I bought a new camera, a Sony Cybershot with a 50x optical zoom so I could really zoom in on the birds. So I took a few photos of our neighbourhood to learn how to use it.
